Textures in Quake are 256 color images used in [[Quake maps]]. Their dimensions are required to be a power of 2, commonly 64x64 or 128x128. Textures are stored directly within [[Quake_BSP_Format|.bsp files]] when used by Quake, or extracted, collected, and used in [[Texure Wad|.wad files]] by level designers.
